The Municipal Government of Bagac will now impose P40 environmental fee to all tourists visiting the ecotourism destination following the passage of Municipal Ordinance No.18, Series of 2023.

Bagac Vice Mayor Ron del Rosario said the Sangguniang Bayan had passed the Ordinance prescribing environmental fee for sustainable environment, setting guidelines for its implementation and imposing penalties in violation thereof.

As per said Ordinance, persons with disability, senior citizens and students on educational tour shall be accorded 20 percent discount upon presentation of identification card. Collection of fees shall be through the municipal treasurer’s office or barangay, and tourism establishments accredited by the local government.

The Ordinance further provides that 70 percent of the gross collection shall be used to cover environmental programs of Bagac municipal government like protection, rehabilitation and conservation of forest and watersheds.
